Fr. Rother Anniversary Mass

July 28, 2013 – Holy Trinity Parish, Okarche, Oklahoma

What an absolutely beautiful day for a beautiful celebration!!  I sang The Shepherd Cannot Run during mass celebrated by Archbishop Paul Coakley.  It is such a special and humbling experience to be a part of mass – especially at Holy Trinity – Fr. Rother’s boyhood parish.  The parishioners were fantastic hosts outdoing themselves with a wonderful picnic lunch after mass complete with rows and rows of dessert tables!!  I think I gained 10 pounds just looking at all the tasty treats!

The Father Stanley Rother Guild had a table displaying our favorite Fr. Rother items.  Pictured is Guild Director, Fr. There was also a cakewalk, face-painting and balloons for the kids – which made for plenty of fun!  After the festivities a closing graveside ceremony was held at the cemetery.  It was an inspiring day.  I so hope Fr. Rother is named a saint in my lifetime – please pray for the cause!

Guild Mass Enid, OK

St. Francis Xavier Church, Enid OK

Fr. Irwin and Fr. RK (pictured) hosted a Fr. Stanley Rother Guild mass at St. Francis Xavier Church in Enid, OK.  One of the awesome things about getting to be a part of these masses is seeing all the different churches.  This church was so beautiful – built in the early 1900s, the architecture and statues were amazing, although so was the reception!  Those Enid ladies can bake!!!  mmmm I can still taste those cookies!   

Guild Mass Shawnee, OK

St. Benedict’s Church in Shawnee, OK hosted the Fr. Rother guild mass May 2nd with Fr. Don Wolf.  Fr. Wolf was a cousin to Fr. Stan Rother and he shared his personal stories and special memories of his relationship with Stan in his homily.  It was so amazing and very inspiring.  Thank you Fr. Wolf for lifting my heart and your gift to all who were present that night!!

St. Joseph’s Guild Mass

I felt so blessed to be able to be a part of the guild mass at St. Joseph’s Church – beautiful mass and wonderful people!  It was also fun being back in Ada where I used to sing at the McSwain theatre on main street.  It brought back heartfelt memories!
